Listen

In a balanced ecosystem, there are people who speaks, people who listens, and amazing people who are deft in both. If everybody talks, (you might wanna listen to Neon Trees-if you know what I mean.sorry, commercial), it's a pain, seriously. And, yeah, if everybody listens, then the sounds of trees and birds are our only source of entertainment (well, that's not such a bad idea).
Uhuh, I know I'm talking crap again this time, but my point is, listening is powerful. It is one of the main weapons in influencing people, in gaining other people's trust, in attracting others, and many more to list down.
There are people in this world who are not given the chance to be listened to. Children were the most unfortunate, I think. Adults forgot how they were when they were kids, and they thought that children have no important things to say. Sometimes, age doesn't determine your maturity and your ability to decide. I knew a kid who was so high in spirits and talk very cheerfully, but suddenly gave up speaking and silenced herself for so long after nobody bothered to listen.
And you know what? Listening is really like doing magic. But you have to know the right skills, and you have to do it earnestly. There were a lot of times when I went to socialize with some new acquaintances and took the part of "the listener". Although we have only met, some told me about her relationship with a guy and how they broke up (trust me, I didn't even ask because I thought that'd be rude), some told me about their hopes and dreams, they told me about how they felt and asked me what to do next. It was wonderful how people can open up to you so much when you put the best effort in listening. And I knew that I had no enough experiences to be giving them advices, but it felt warm that people trust you even after you only know them for a while.
I don't open up to people so much about my feelings, but I always felt happy when people give responses to my unimportant remarks of " Tadi aku nak tergolek kat tangga" or "Aku dah muak makan nasik" or "Hari macam nak hujan". You'd feel important despite your unimportant chatter.
Let's listen today, shall we :)
