You Are Who You Are

A friend (who's a guy) asked me if it's okay if a guy watches KDramas. He made me write this.

Korean Dramas=girls

Ballet dancing=girls

Sewing=girls

Flowers=girls

Teddy bears and dollies= girls

Football= guys

Rugby= guys

Electric guitar=guys

Skateboarding=guys

Big bikes= guys

Our brains are too busy stereotyping everyday. Everything is fixed for this and that. Put a girl in front of the tv with her eight brothers to watch EPL, then the brothers say: "Go cook or something. You're a giiirrlll"

A guy wears a pink tie with floral prints and her girlfriend says: "I'm not seeing you anymore until you burn that tie"

What's wrong with having a passion of your own rather than liking something that others tell you to like?

What's so wrong about a girl who plays soccer after school? What's so wrong about guys loving flowers and teddy bears? What's so filthy about being who you are? But being someone who you are not, that is being plain mean to yourself.

Because we are afraid of what people might think, because we are too scared to be hurt by other people's critisism, we give up our passion, our hopes, our dreams, we give up on ourselves.

Imagine if we follow the "rules" that never existed. Every girl likes to sew, likes arranging flowers, likes baking cookies, likes knitiing mittens, and every guy on the planet crowd in the field to play soccer, play with bugs and carry dumbbells everywhere, there'll be no female athletes because girls are too busy icing cakes at home, and husbands and dads cannot even hold a pan. And conversations will be boring between the opposite sexes because there would be no common interest.

Alex: We beat The Claws in the semi-final match today.

Lisa: Boorriing...You remember Jung Min in the drama I told you last time right?He was sooo pitiful in the last episode..!

Alex: Booriinngg...

Don't worry. As long as you know your limits, as long as you don't break the syara', just be who you are. Just do what you love to do. It'll be fine. Just pursue the things that would make you happy.
